General Instructions for Submissions:
1. Please read the requirements and directions below before submitting your proposal.
2. Please have all addresses, paper titles, abstracts, and cvs ready and accessible (preferably as word files on your computer) before attempting to submit a proposal.
3. The deadline for submission is Friday, January 30, 2009.
Individual Paper Submission Requirements and Instructions:
*Applicants may submit individual paper proposals, but they should note that the Program Committee will give strong preference to complete panel proposals over individual paper submissions.
*Each person who submits a paper proposal must include an email address, a mailing address, and a brief CV (maximum 500 words).
*Each paper requires a title, brief keywords, and an abstract of 200-300 words.
*You will be asked whether you require audiovisual support. If the applicant requests audio-visual support, this should be absolutely essential to the presentation. Due to the high cost of providing AV in hotels, the Program Committee will follow up with all accepted participants who require AV to determine the nature of the request.
Panel and Roundtable Submission Requirements and Instructions:
*Panel submissions require an email address, a mailing address, and a brief CV (maximum 500 words) for each person involved in the panel.
*Each panel requires a panel title, panel keywords, and a panel abstract of 200-300 words.
*Each multi-participant submission requires three or four papers, including titles and abstracts of 200-300 words each.
*Presenters will be asked whether they require audio-visual support. If the panel requests audio-visual support, this should be absolutely essential to the presentations. Due to the high cost of providing AV in hotels, the Program Committee will follow up with all accepted participants who require AV to determine the nature of the request.
*Panel submission is a multi-step process which must be completed in one sitting.
*Please allow yourself at least thirty minutes for this process. The submission is not complete until all information has been entered.
*Do NOT press the "BACK" button on your browser window during the submission process or you will lose the materials that you have submitted. If you must make changes or corrections after submission, please contact the Program Chair (lara.kriegel@fiu.edu ).
A. Three-Paper Panel Proposals
*Each three-paper panel should consist of an organizer, three presenters, a chair, and a respondent.
*The organizer may be a chair, presenter, or respondent; the organizer will be the primary contact person for the panel.
*The chair and the respondent may be the same person.
*Panel applicants should make strong efforts to secure both a chair and a commentator. If these are not available by January 30, 2009, please complete all other parts of the submission, listing TBD in all required fields for chair and commentator.
B. Four-Paper Roundtable Proposals
*Each roundtable should consist of an organizer, four paper presenters, and a chair.
*The organizer may be the chair or a paper presenter; the organizer will be the primary contact person for the panel.
*Roundtable applicants should make strong efforts to secure a chair. If no chair is available by January 30, 2009, please complete all other parts of the submission, listing TBD in all required fields for chair and commentator.
